Monday. Spent the day in Ushuaia (oo shoo WYE yuh),
Argentina. Started 100 years ago as a prison colony,
now a ski resort and jumping-off place for
Antarctica.
Sudden change of scene--it's now Wed., March 15,
10:00 AM eastern time. We're in another storm, winds
85 knots (97 MPH!), 35' waves. Hurricane winds start
at 75! Captain requested all passengers remain in
cabins, but nobody listened, including me. I'm in
the cafeteria and it's crowded. Betty is getting
ready for another lesson in an hour.
We're in the Pacific Ocean off the southeast coast
of Chile (CHIL ee of Chil A, depending on which
performer is talking). The captain said we'll be in
the Magellan Straits and calmer waters in an hour.
Both of these blustery days have been at sea, which
means we've had good weather for all our sightseeing
in various ports.
Wireless transmission has not been good way down
here at the tip of the continent, but I'll try
sending this in the hopes you read it while the
storm is high.
Max
Nope, can't reach the satellite. Will send later.
It's now Friday and transmissions are okay.

We're heading toward Valparaiso for disembarking
tomorrow (Sunday), flying home from Santiago Monday.
Here are a few photos of the final days.
What a super time we have had.
See everybody soon.
