Happy Fourth of JulyJULY NEWSLETTER

Happy Fourth of July!  We have a sizzling month of special games and classes for you to enjoy!

SPIKE LAY 2/1 CLASS

Spike will be teaching a two day class on 2/1 Thursday July 2 and Friday July 3.  Classes will be from 9:15 to 12:15 and are being offered for the remarkable price of fifteen dollars!!!

ADMINISTRATION

The Board has accepted the resignation of board member Murray Goldberg.  Murray has served us well during his term but because of personal reasons needed to resign.  Your elected alternate Scott Weiss has replaced Murray. We are delighted to welcome Scott to the board.

BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS

Special thanks to Carol Lively and Gail Rust for obtaining bids and overseeing the cleaning and polishing of our terrazzo floor.  It looks great and thanks to Betty Bayard for working closely with our cleaning lady Kristen to maintain it in tiptop shape.  Also thanks to Gail Rust for responding quickly to the players in the limited section who wanted to have a bulletin board on the south side of the club to post their scores.  Betty, Carole and Gail provide the club a great service on the Spruce-up Committee and we are very grateful for their hard work.

AIR CONDITIONER

The Board has approved the replacement of the west air conditioner and additional related roofing repairs.  The total cost of this will be approximately nine thousand dollars.  Special thanks to Don Beecher for working closely with Best Value in getting a bid and overseeing the installation of our new air conditioner.

DAYTONA BEACH SECTIONAL

As many of you are aware Max Bayard who served as chairman of our Tournament Committee passed in June. Max’s enthusiasm, dedication and care to details of this event will be greatly missed.   Board member Judy Hinds has been working closely with Max on this committee since January.  Judy wants to continue to serve on this committee but has asked not to chair.  I have asked Chet Masztak to replace Max as chair of our Tournament Committee and he has graciously and willingly accepted.    The entire board and our numerous volunteers will work closely with Chet and Judy to ensure that our upcoming Daytona Beach Sectional on September 10-13 is an event that would make Max proud.
